On the body
I love the pieces that all restricted some of or just the whole body parts. And the way models made different poses wearing them. They are like chains on the models but also some machines that helps people make movements.

I name this collection 'Beyond the body' for that in my opinion, compared with the last section, these works started to ignore the human figure and break through the body outline. They interact with other creatures (the animal shape) and the surrounding world via using the objects which are not tightly related to ' human body '.

These pieces all look like a second skin on human but are obviously artificial.
They also help covers the weak parts of human body ---- lips/necks and chest/waist in upper half of body. At the same time, those materials they were made with are metal and leather, reminding me of the ancient time when people first use animal fur to cover themselves to gain warmth and when people first widely used metal in daily life and industrial production. Those all when people first realized the power they had and they had the chance to improve productivity and even change or reansform the nature, the world they were living in.

Bones out of body ---- an essential supportive but super fragile structure that can be easily broken.
I wanted to make something just like bone or human skelecton ---- very important, essential, but fragile and needing careful protection.
The tattoo covers the jaw and neck ---- those parts which are unable to handle sudden attack

The Holy Lance, displayed in the Imperial Treasury at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria
The Holy Lance, also known as the Lance of Longinus was used to test whether Holy Jesus was dead already after pinned onto the cross in the Bible. It's kind of a symbol of death.
Lilith with the lance in < Evangelion >
In the famous Japanese mango < Evangelion >, Lance of Longinus is the tool to suppress and seal the uncontrollable power from God. It's some sort of restriction.
It's interesting that I've found lots of pieces functioning as helmet and armour aimed for protection while I also found others shaped like deadly weapons tied to the weakness in human body.
I like experimenting with human body so my initial idea was already something related to the conceptual human body.
I've collected materials about pieces that are fitting the skin or ignoring the human figure, for protection or as a symbol of attack. Based on those incompatible ideas, I wanted to make something as a restriction and basic structure of human life.
In the real world, with the highly developed technology and modern society, sometimes people think they can transform the nature for their own benefits and should do it first before being threatened by nature. This piece is like a reminder of the fragile human body life, a warning sign indicating that we should show more respect to the nature.
